Keldian - Heaven's Gate
Perris Records
Can you speak of a band when there are just two members in the permanent line up and the rest of the musicians are billed as guests? Christer Andersen and Arild Aardalen together fill the parts of vocals, bass, guitar and keyboards and five others back them up with drums, vocals and violin. Together Keldian, as the band is called, come up with a full sound, energetic and varied. Stylistically somewhere between Europe, Asia and also Demon, with a lot of attention being paid to keyboards and vocals.
The pedal on the tempo is pushed down sometimes, adding some faster songs. Interesting for the melodic rock fans who know their way with prog metal as well. In top hitters like 'Requiem For The Light' and 'Sundancer' the band pulls out all they have and they really shine. It's not metal but not too far away really. I'm curious to see how this 'band' will evolve, by doing some live shows a more permanent form will be built and when that happens I will keep an eye out for them for sure.
